The product enters the front conveyor belt of the checkweigher. The speed setting of the front conveyor belt is generally determined by the spacing of the products and the required speed. The purpose is to ensure that only one product can be on the weighing platform during the operation of the checkweigher.

The second step of the checkweigher workflow: weighing process

When the product enters the weighing section, the system identifies the product to be tested entering the weighing area based on external signals, such as photoelectric switch signals, or internal level signals. According to the running speed of the weighing section and the length of the conveyor, or according to the level signal, the system can determine the time when the product leaves the weighing area. From the time the product enters the weighing platform to the time it leaves the weighing platform, the weighing sensor will detect the signal, and the controller selects the signal in the stable signal area for processing to obtain the weight of the product.

The third step of the checkweigher workflow: sorting process

When the controller obtains the weight signal of the product, the system will compare it with the pre-set weight range and sort the product. The sorting type will vary according to the actual application. There are mainly the following types:

Rejection of unqualified products

Remove overweight and underweight separately, or transport them to different places

Divide into different weight categories according to different weight ranges

The fourth step of the checkweigher workflow: report feedback

Automatic checkweighers have weight signal feedback function. Usually, the average weight of the set number of products is fed back to the controller of the packaging/filling/canning machine. The controller will dynamically adjust the feeding amount to make the average weight of the product closer to the target value.

In addition to the feedback function, the checkweigher can also provide rich reporting functions, including the number of packages per zone, the total amount per zone, the qualified number, the qualified total amount, the average value, the standard deviation, the total number and the total accumulation.
